PRESS RELEASE – TRA Appoints Chad Empey Chief Financial Officer

Empey Brings Years of Expertise in Strategic Accounting and Financial Leadership

APPLETON, WIS. (January 4, 2022) – The Retirement Advantage, Inc. (TRA), an industry-leading national retirement services company, is pleased to announce the appointment of Chad Empey to the position of Chief Financial Officer (CFO).

Effective January 1st, 2022, Empey will oversee the company’s finance and human resource teams, as well as be responsible for all aspects of the company’s financial strategy and operations, including accounting and financial reporting, acquisitions, treasury and capital planning, investments, risk management, tax, budgeting and planning, and procurement. Empey will continue to report to Matt Schoneman, TRA’s President/Owner, and is a member of the company’s executive team.

Empey brings more than 17 years of corporate finance experience and first joined TRA in February of this year as Director of Finance and Accounting. Prior to TRA, Empey has served in a range of finance, accounting, and corporate development roles, including time with Jason Industries, Inc., Kohls Corporation and the Milwaukee office of PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP.

Empey is a native of Wisconsin and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the state of Wisconsin.  He is a graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Madison with a Bachelor of Business Administration. He also has earned both his Master of Accountancy (MAcc) and Master of Business Administration (MBA) degrees from UW – Madison.
